Summary

Randall Meyers: born 1955 in the U.S.A.; has lived in Europe since 1970. He studied at the London ’Guild Hall School of Music And Drama’ between (1970-1974); and further at the ’Hochschule Für Musik Und Darstellenden Kunst’ in Vienna (1975-1979). Since 1979 Meyers has been active as both composer, concertist and teacher throughout Europe. His music spans over a broad spectre of styles and forms. From solo and chamber pieces, to works for large orchestra, concertos, film music, as well as theatre and ballet performances. Through his profound interest in the musical traditions of different cultures, Meyers has developed a very personal musical language; not easily placed in any one idiom or school of composition. His music has been performed in many European countries, U.S.A., and Asia. Meyers has also composed the soundtracks to over 80 films. Among which are several known features as well. He has published the acclaimed book on film music ’Film Music Fundamentals of the Language’. Furthermore, he has recorded several CD’s, and is Artistic Director of Solaris Records, as well as producer for Floating World Films AS - film company occupied with the development and production of musical and fantasy related film projects. Meyers lives and works between Spoleto Italy, Munich Germany, and Oslo Norway.
