Jeremy Nicholas (b.1947) is an actor, writer, broadcaster and musician. His many stage roles in the UK include his solo performance of Jerome K Jerome’s Three Men In A Boat (Olivier Award nomination) while on television he has starred in everything from classic serials to sit-coms and soaps. For radio he has written nearly seventy features on a variety of subjects as well as presenting his own series on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4. In 1996 he won the Sony Gold Award for best arts programme.

Jeremy has composed the scores for many stage plays and four major television productions. His works have been recorded by the Grimethorpe Colliery Band, Sarah Walker and Roger Vignoles, Markham & Nettle, Kevin Bowyer, Jody Applebaum and Marc-André Hamelin among others. His biography of the pianist-composer Leopold Godowsky was published in 1989 followed by three reference books on classical music, a collection of light verse and an album of songs (Funny You Should Sing That: The Songs of Jeremy Nicholas). His new biography of Chopin was published in April this year. He is a regular contributor to The Gramophone, Classic FM Magazine, BBC Music Magazine and International Piano. In his spare time he runs a church choir and is President of the Jerome K. Jerome Society.
