Summary
Tiflis Conservatory followed by graduate work in composition at the
Moscow Conservatory. After his return to Georgia, he headed the Georgian
Musical-Choreographic Society, taught at the Tbilisi Conservatory and
was active in the Composers' Union. In 1966, he was made an "Honored
Worker in the Arts" of Georgia. Gordeli is the author of works ranging
from operetta, symphonic and choral music to film scores; his Concertino
for flute and orchestra, composed in 1958, remains among his most
popular scores.
