Frederik Thaae is a Danish composer, producer and musician. Thaae was born in 1978 in Frederiksberg,Copenhagen. As a child he played along with glam rock tunes by Twisted Sister among others and this rock mythology fascinated him from quite early in his life. At age 10 he started to play guitar. Later on he went for Det Frie Gymnasium (The Free Upper Secondary School) where he experimented with jazz music. He graduated as tonmeister from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2006.
He formed the band A Kid Hereafter (an anagram on his name), which debuted in 2007 with the album "Rich Freedom Flavour”. The album was well received because of its chaotic mixture of different kinds of music including country, reggae, hard-core punk and rock.
Thaae has produced albums for a wide range of artists including Murder and Peter Sommer. In 2009 he was appointed the City of Roskilde’s composer in residence.
