Biography
Bernard Andrès was born in Belfort in 1941. He studied music at the conservatories of Besançon, Strasburg and Paris, where he won, notably, a First Prize for harp. The holder of a music teaching certificate and an ‘Aptitude Certificate’ for teaching the harp in French regional conservatories, he has taught in various establishments in the Paris area and has published several teaching works for his instrument. Since 1969 Bernard Andrès has been soloist with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France while also pursuing a career as a composer, writing a large number of works for solo harp and harp in various combinations, for Celtic harp, and also for choir, orchestra and various chamber ensembles.
