Biography
French composer Aldred Desenclos was born on February 7th 1912 and described himself as a romantic. His music was renowned for its highly expressive and atmospheric nature and its roots in excellent compositional technique. His output is somewhat modest, partly because his studies as a composer were halted at an early stage so he could support his family by working as an industrial designer, until restarting his musical education in 1929 at the Conservatory in Roubaix, studying the piano. His sacred choral music shows a strong influence from Saint-Saëns and Fauré and he won the Prix de Rome for his work in 1942.
