Born on Noverber 14th 1943 in Vaires-sur-Marne, French composer and arranger Jean-Claude Petit attended the Paris Conservatory where he studied harmony and counterpoint, having spent much of his youth accompanying jazz musicians. Much of his output has been in the form of music for television and film, with some other solo work, as well as arrangements, such as the string arrangements for Mink DeVille’s Le Chat Bleu album. His first major film soundtrack was for Alexandro Jodorowsky’s film Tusk in 1979 and since then, Petit has composed the soundtracks for 22 films, the most recent of which was the 2007 film Dance With Him.
