Summary
As a musicologist, Grundman has carried out the diffusion of contemporary music and has premiered in Spain works by Vladimir Martynov, Michael Hurd, Gerald Finzi, Kurt Atterberg, Georgs Pelecis, Marjan Mozetich or Giovanni Sollima, among others. He is co-founder of the Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra, together with the violinist Ara Malikian. He has collaborated in world premiere recordings of works by Ernesto and Rodolfo Halffter and Julián Bautista with the Orquesta de Extremadura and his conductor Jesús Amigo and has many own recordings in labels as Virgin, Warner Music, BMG, RCA or Non Profit Music.
Among the performers of his pieces there are prestigious soloists such as Brodsky Quartet, Ara Malikian, Daniel del Pino, Susana Cordón, Jiří Bárta, Trío Arbós, Sidney Contemporary Orchestra, Orquesta de Cámara de España or Non Profit Music Chamber Orchestra. His pieces have been premiered in music halls such as Auditorio Nacional de Música of Madrid, Teatro Nacional of Brasilia, Trinity Cathedral of California, West Valley College Theater or Iglesia La Dolorosa of Quito.
Presently, he has been designated by the heirs of writer Miguel Delibes and the Spanish literary agency Carmen Balcells to compose the opera to the masterwork of Spanish literature Cinco horas con Mario.
Biography
Jorge Grundman started his musical training when he was twelve years old and composed his first work at the age of fourteen. He began his studies in music theory, piano and choir at Real Conservatorio Superior de Música of Madrid with Carmen Ledesma and Joaquín Soriano. He has continued his training until these days, being a PhD. in Arts and taking a master’s degree in Musical Creation and Interpretation, a degree in Sciences and History of Music; a degree in Sound and Image Engineering and a degree in Computer Technologies. He has also attended master classes by Jesús López Cobos and José Luis Temes and conducting master classes by maestro Navarro Lara.

In April 2011, Grundman receives a commission by the International Music Festival of Toledo and writes the sonata for flute and piano Warhol in Springtime, very successfully premiered at the festival. His sonata for violin and piano, What Inspires Poetry, dedicated to the composer Marjan Mozetich, was broadcasted on many American radio stations becoming one of the most broadcasted Spanish pieces in the United States.
The prestigious USA Fanfare Magazine dedicates its cover picture to him in May 2012 and includes an extensive interview defining him as "the composer who lets your feelings flow […]”. In 2013, he recovers the Latin chamber oratorio with his work The Resurrection of Christ for soprano and string quartet, which was premiered at Auditorio of Cibeles Palace in Madrid and that was recorded and broadcasted by Spanish National Television (TVE). This work is also recorded by Brodsky Quartet and Susana Cordón for Chandos Records and it was released on June 2014. In April 2014 it was released also the CD with his complete works for violin and piano by violinist Vicente Cueva and pianist Daniel del Pino.
