Phillip Faber (b. 1984) trained as a composer and conductor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. His close links with Danish and Scan­di­navian choral music have made him much sought-after as a vocal composer, but his oeuvre also includes chamber music and orchestral works.
He became Chief Conductor of the Danish National Girls’ Choir in 2013, and from the beginning he has left his own special imprint on the sound and expression of the choir. In addition he is a guest conductor for the Danish National Vocal Ensemble, the Danish National Concert Choir and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, and in 2017 he was awarded the DR Language Prize for his musical communication in TV programmes such as the Classical Music Quiz and Live from the Folk High School Song Book.
