Biography

 

Richard Rudolf Klein, born on May 21, 1921, in Nussdorf near Landau (Palatinate), was a prominent figure in the world of music. His journey as a composer and conductor was marked by an unwavering dedication to his craft and a lifelong commitment to musical excellence.

He studied violin and viola and later trumpet and organ whilst a student in Landau. He started composing at a young age and conducted his own compositions with his school orchestra at commemorative events. At 14 he commenced performing piano pieces and songs in broadcasts at the former Rundfunk-Sender Kaiserslautern. 

Klein's passion for music led him to the renowned Trossingen and Stuttgart music colleges. There, he had the privilege of studying under the mentorship of Phillip Mohler for composition and K. Muenchinger for conducting, among other distinguished teachers including Wolfgang Fortner and Hans Grischkat.
