The recording of Made in America by Joan Tower won three awards at this year’s 50th annual Grammy Awards. The recording, by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Slatkin, received the award for Best Classical Album, Best Classical Contemporary Composition and Best Orchestral Performance. Over the past two years, the work has been performed by 65 orchestras in all 50 state of the US.
