The young Austrian percussionist Martin Grubinger premiered Rolf Wallin's Das war schön!, Avner Dorman’s Frozen in Time and Concerto No 3 for Marimba and Orchestra by Anders Koppel. Now all three concertos will be part of the “The big night of percussion” on August 15 at the Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival in Lübeck where Grubinger will be artist in residence. John Axelrod will conduct the NDR Radiophilharmonie through the percussion extravaganza. Das war schön! is already available on the highly acclaimed CD Act and will receive its eighth performance at the Schleswig Holstein Festival with more to come. A similar performance history is building up for Frozen in Time which will be performed in Hong Kong later this year.
