Tan Dun at Grafenegg

One of the world's newest music festivals, founded in 2007, is based at the seven hundred year old Grafenegg castle outside Vienna. Tan Dun is the Composer-in-Residence for the 2009 season of the Grafenegg Festival. Tan Dun will hear the premiere of his latest work on September 6, Earth Concerto for Stone and Ceramic Instruments with Orchestra, as well as performances of several other works including his Paper Concerto and Water Concerto . Throughout the festival featured screenings of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Map, will be shown during “film breakfasts.” The composer will also lead discussions and a composition workshop.
