Dream Song

Edward Gregson is to write a new work for the BBC Philharmonic for next season as part of their complete Mahler symphonies cycle with the Hallé orchestra. BBC Radio 3 has commissioned a number of prominent composers to fulfill commissions based around a particular Mahler symphony. In Gregson’s case, his new work, entitled Dream Song, will be premiered in the first half of a concert which has Mahler’s 6th Symphony as its main work. The premiere will be given by the BBC Philharmonic under its Principal Conductor Gianandrea Noseda on March 27 2010.
