Eric Whitacre has just celebrated his fortieth birthday. Several new works will be performed later in 2010, including the premiere of his new piece written for the London Symphony Chorus and Orchestra, which he will conduct at the Barbican in London on October 24. Whitacre will also form part of the panel at the final of BBC Choir of the Year to be held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on November 28.
Meanwhile, in France, Tarik O’Regan will be the featured composer at the annual festival of sacred choral music at St Evode, Rouen, on March 26-28.
