Ricardo Chailly commissioned Karl Aage Rasmussen to create an orchestration of Robert Schumann’s Papillons for the 230th season opening of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig on August 20. The concert is also part of Mendelssohn-Festtage 2010: "Mendelssohn und Schumann” and will encompass Schumann’s Concerto for Cello and Orchestra as well as his Symphony No 2.
