Rolf Wallin is to have a new 30 minute orchestral work, Manyworlds, premiered this September by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by John Storgårds. The title
is inspired by the belief in quantum physics that there are an infinite number of parallel universes. Commissioned by the Bergen Philharmonic, NDR Radiophilharmonie and the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, further performances will take place in March and June 2011 (Helsinki and Cologne respectively).
Wallin is currently writing a Trumpet Concerto for Håkan Hardenberger (right), who celebrates his 50th birthday during the 2011/12 season. This will be premiered by WDR Symphony Orchestra in Cologne next September.
