The Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias was honoured with the Bremen Film Award 2011. This award is given annually and the prize is 8,000 Euros ($10,500). The award was created in 1999 to be given to distinguished actors, directors, writers and producers of European cinema. The award ceremony took place at the town hall of Bremen, Germany on 20 January 2011. Last year the award was presented to the Austrian filmmaker Ulrich Seidl.
Iglesias has composed the music for several Pedro Almodovar films and has been nominated twice for Oscars for the soundtracks to The Constant Gardener and The Kite Runner.

Ludovico Einaudi’s Eros features in the trailer for the film Black Swan.
Black Swan is the new film by Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler), a psychological thriller featuring Natalie Portman as a ballet dancer in New York City who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis). The trailer features the track Eros by Ludovico Einaudi.
The trailer also made its way into Empire magazine’s top ten trailers of the year.

Alex Heffes has composed the music for the new P&O Cruises advertising campaign.
Award-winning composer Alex Heffes, known for his scores to acclaimed films The Last King of Scotland, and Touching the Void, has scored the new P&O Cruises advertising campaign. Recorded at Air Studios and inspired by Handel’s Zadok the Priest, you can see the commercial below.
Ludovico Einaudi’s music features in advertising campaigns for Chivas Regal and Vodafone Egypt. L’Origine Nascosta, from the album Divenire, features in the new Chivas Regal worldwide advertising campaign while Primavera is used in a special advertisement for Vodafone Egypt by acclaimed director Rob Sanders which can be seen here:
The classic song “I’ll Try Anything (To Get You)” (Barkan / Millrose) published by Music Sales and performed by Dusty Springfield features in the film Toast directed by SJ Clarkson (Life on Mars, Dexter, Ugly Betty) based on the autobiography of celebrity chef Nigel Slater and starring Ken Stott, Helena Bonham-Carter and Victoria Hamilton. Produced by Ruby Films, Toast was shown on BBC TV during the Christmas period and will be on DVD soon.
