Howard Blake’s captivating Walking in the Air, most famously associated with Raymond Briggs’ film adaptation of The Snowman , has once again been used to enhance a visual journey – this time by NASA. The video, entitled ‘Walking on Air’, features a series of time-lapse sequences photographed by the Expedition 30 crew aboard the International Space Station. A stunning display of natural and man-made light, the sequence includes views of Aurora Borealis, comets, lightning storms and countries lit up at night. The UK can be viewed at 1:34 and 3:08. Blake’s timeless and haunting classic perfectly accompanies the timeless natural beauty of planet Earth.
