Casablancas’ Dove of Peace: Homage to Picasso stands out in Alicante

According to the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia, Dove of Peace by Benet Casablancas stands out at the Festival de Música de Alicante. This piece was performed within the programme of the Birmingham Contemporary Group. Oliver Knussen directed the ensemble alongside the outstanding clarinet soloist Timothy Lines. La Vanguardia’s journalist Jorge de Persia comments “a very demanding and dynamic piece for the clarinet that combines density, contrasts and a delicate counterpoint, that bears the distinctive seal of the Catalonian author”.
