On July 10, the Cheltenham Music Festival commission for Simon Holt, Escaramuza, will be premiered by Radio 3 New Generation artists Igor Levit and Mark Simpson. That same day the work Sainte-Chappelle by Eric Whitacre will also form part of the festival, performed by the commissioners, the Tallis Scholars with Peter Philips at Tewkesbury Abbey. On July 14 the Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge will include Mother of God, here I stand by John Tavener in a concert at Cheltenham College Chapel.
