Tracing Isadora - World premiere

In Tracing Isadora the Ensemble Kevin O’Day Ballett Nationaltheater Mannheim approaches the pioneer of expressionist dance Isadora Duncan (1877-1927) whose working methods – rejecting classical ballet technique, “natural” movements and choosing symphonic music for her dance performances – opened up a new knowledge of the body and new possibilities for the artform of dance at the beginning of the 20th century.
The project is supported by the Tanzfond Erbe (Dance Heritage Fund) – an initiative of the Bundeskulturstiftung (the German Federal Cultural Foundation).
