Terry Riley's 'Dark Queen Mantra' premieres

At the concert, Del Sol also performs Riley's The Wheel and Mythic Birds Waltz, and music by Huang Ruo and Stefano Scodanibbio.
The premiere is a celebration of Terry Riley’s 80th birthday. A forefather of minimalism, Riley writes and improvises in a robust, transfixing language. The San Francisco Conservatory of Music recognized Riley's achievements with an honorary doctorate degree during the school's commencement ceremonies in May 2015.
