11th April 2018

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, led by William Rowson, will give the Canadian premiere of Helen Grime's brilliant sinfonietta work, A Cold Spring, on 14 April 2018 in a concert entitled "Crepuscular, Luminous."
A Cold Spring has enjoyed many performances since the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group's premiere of her bracing piece for ten players almost a decade ago, notably by the London Sinfonietta at the BBC Proms and by members of the New World Symphony in its US premiere.
A concerto for orchestra in miniature, solos and duos in its active outer movement enclose a lullaby featuring the horn in the central movement.
