A new disc, released on November 11, 2022 on Delphian records, combines the music of Ian Venables and Herbert Howells with Venables’ Requiem (2022) the centrepiece.
Venables’ Requiem for choir and organ was composed in 2018 and recorded in its original scoring by Gloucester Cathedral Choir (Somm), and the novelty with this new version is an added orchestra, covering the original organ part, that is expertly re-imagined in a colourful and highly effective fashion, giving the piece a new and rousing perspective.
