Vocal group VOCES8, the Carducci Quartet and musician Ola Gjeilo will perform several works published by Wise Music Group on Wednesday August 9 at 10:15pm BST.
Included in the programme will be the world premiere of Floral Tribute by Roxanna Panufnik, a setting of a poem written by the UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, which marks the end of her time as Composer in Residence with VOCES8.
The Carducci Quartet will also perform The day before by Peter Gregson and String Quartet No 3 “Mishima” by Philip Glass.
Ola Gjeilo is performing for the first time at the Proms, playing his chart-topping piano music as well as other pieces Serenity, The Rose, Ubi Caritas and piano improvisation.
