Blue: The New Album from Oliver Davis
The latest album from acclaimed composer Oliver Davis will be released on 6 October, 2023. Blue features the Dutch piano duo Beth & Flo in lush meditations on water in its many forms, expressed in both piano four hands and two piano configurations. Joining them are the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Paul Bateman and vocalists Grace and Joshua Davidson and Julia Doyle. “The Water Garden” is the first of three singles to be released ahead of the full album and is available now on all major streaming platforms. A stunning film shot on location in The Netherlands accompanies the track.
The upcoming single “Lost” from the song cycle Dream Songs features soprano Grace Davidson and her son, treble chorister Joshua Davidson, singing together in a moving and unique mother and son musical pairing.
Thrive at the Richmond Ballet
A perennial favourite among choreographers, music by Oliver Davis will accompany the dancers of the Richmond Ballet in the live-orchestra premiere of Ma Cong’s Thrive as part of the Wolf Trap summer season on 30 August. Additional performances follow in September at the Dominion Energy Center in Richmond, Virginia.
