Impermanence by Bryce Dessner was commissioned by Sydney Dance Company in 2020 and premiered in February 2021 with choreography by Rafael Bonachela, performed by the Australian String Quartet.
This full evening work was initially inspired by the tragedy of the Australian bush fires and the Notre-Dame fire in Paris and the piece ends with a beautiful setting of Another World by Anohni.
