Today, Friday October 13, Sebastian Fagerlund's new work Helena´s Song for solo violin and symphony orchestra, co-commissioned by Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, will receive its world premiere by Finnish RSO with performer/conductor John Storgårds. The work is based on Helena's aria from the opera Höstsonaten (Autumn Sonata). An abstract setting without the characters: the moods of the story and Helena still float in it, but only as shadows and reminders.
