Wise Music Group congratulates the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (ROH) and English National Opera (ENO) on their shortlisted nominations in the New Opera Production category of the 2024 Laurence Olivier Awards.
For the ROH Kaija Saariaho’s last opera Innocence written in collaboration with Sofi Oksanen and Aleksi Barrière was directed by Simon Stone in a co-production lead by Festival International d’Art Lyrique d’Aix-en-Provence, Dutch National Opera, Finnish National Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and San Francisco Opera.
For ENO their UK premiere presentation of composer Jeanine Tesori and librettist Tazewell Thompson’s award-winning and emotionally compelling opera Blue, in a production directed by Tinuke Craig and designed by Alex Lowde. The 2024 Olivier Awards take place at the Royal Albert Hall on April 14th.
