On May 3-4, Bryce Dessner returns to his hometown of Cincinnati, OH for three performances of recent works by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The highlight of these performances is the US Premiere of Dessner’s Piano Concerto, co-commissioned by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and written for soloist Alice Sara Ott, one of classical music’s most creative minds.
Dessner breaks down his Piano Concerto
Featured on the May 3 matinee and May 4 evening performances, the Piano Concerto is programmed alongside Dessner’s pastoral Mari; Samuel Lee conducts.
On the evening of May 3, Dessner will take to the stage as soloist in Wires, an electric guitar concerto originally composed for the Ensemble Intercontemporain. Closing the program is his beloved Concerto for Two Pianos, written for Dessner's dear friends and Dream House Quartet bandmates, Katia and Marielle Labèque; Daniel Wiley conducts.
