Bryce Dessner will be Artist-In-Residence for the 24/25 season at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

On November 15, in the first of two concerts with the orchestra, Dessner’s regular collaborator André de Ridder conducts the NSO in the Irish Premiere of Dessner’s poetic symphonic piece Mari alongside his effervescent violin concerto in the hands of its dedicatee Pekka-Kuusisto. The second on April 11, 2025 features Dessner in performance alongside David Chalmin (guitars) sharing a stage with the NSO for his piece St. Carolyn by the Sea, followed by the Irish premiere of his Concerto for Two Pianos performed by siblings Katia and Marielle Labèque and Stravinsky’s Petrushka. A post-concert discussion featuring Bryce Dessner and the musicians will follow both performances, led by RTÉ broadcaster John Kelly.

On March 26 renowned cellist Gaultier Capucon leads his Capucelli Ensemble in a programme including The Forest by Dessner commissioned for Capucon by the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
