Works published by companies which are part of Wise Music Group will be featured this August around our region.

Nathaniel Stookey The Composer is Dead  will be performed August 10-11 with a Chinese translation which was prepared especially for this performance. Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center, Taipei, Taiwan.

Stuart Greenbaum The Rotation of the Earth will be performed August 12 by Wesley College, Hamer Hall, Melbourne, Australia.

Kaija Saariaho Lichtbogen  will be performed August 14 by Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, Free Space, Hong Kong.

Samuel Barber Concerto for Violin. This work is a staple of many ensembles globally. Multiple performances will take place in August:

·         August 16-17 by Singapore Symphony Orchestra, The Esplanade, Singapore

·         August 23-31 by West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Perth Concert Hall, Australia

·         August 27 Ivanhoe Girls Grammar School, Melbourne, Australia

William Barton Sky Songs August 18 with Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Brisbane, Australia.

Tan Dun Violin Concerto: Fire Ritual  on August 18 at Zhongshan Hall by Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Taiwan.

Toshiro Mayusumi Concertino for Xylophone and Orchestra will receive two performances this month:

·         August 21 Wesley College, Melbourne Recital Centre, Melbourne, Australia; and

·         August 24 Trust Wiakato Symphony Orchestra, Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, Hamilton, New Zealand.

Richard Strauss Don Juan will be performed August 24 by Symphony Orchestra of India at the National Centre for the Performing Arts Mumbai, India.

Graeme Koehne Divertissement: Trois Pieces Bourgeoises August 27 by Sydney Grammar School, Sydney, Australia.
