This September, the musical world will see a lot of premieres and concerts featuring the works of Kaija Saariaho.

Her final work, a trumpet concerto for jazz trumpeter Verneri Pohjola titled Hush will have its German premiere performed by Staatskapelle Berlin under the baton of Susanna Mälkki. Kaija Saariaho completed the work during her lifetime but unfortunately did not live to see its world premiere in August 2023 with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.

This premiere is followed by several more concerts, including performances at Musikfest Berlin and Lucerne Festival.

Her widely acclaimed opera Innocence will be presented in two new productions in the upcoming season. At Musiktheater Gelsenkirchen, the first new production after the highly successful world premiere production will be realized, and later at the Semperoper Dresden.
