In the upcoming season, several of Missy Mazzoli’s works will be performed in the German-speaking countries and receive country premieres. Mazzoli is represented with a wide range of her concert and opera works.
The first concert is the German premiere of Orpheus Undone, performed by the Berlin Philharmonic at Musikfest Berlin. This suite is from her ballet Orpheus Alive, which was commissioned by The National Ballet of Canada.
Further, in January, the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen will present the German premiere of her fourth opera, The Listeners, with a text by Royce Vavrek, her longtime librettist partner.
