The evening length ballet The Winter's Tale, with music by Joby Talbot and a choreography by Christopher Wheeldon, will have its Austrian Premiere on November 19 at Staatsoper Vienna, performed by Wiener Staatsballett. The premiere is followed by nine performances until December 20.

Talbot and Wheeldon have been working together for many years, creating contrasting and individual works for the ballet stage.

The Winter’s Tale follows the story of Shakespeare’s classic of the same name.  It tells of the destruction of a marriage through consuming jealousy, the abandonment of a child and a seemingly hopeless love. Yet, through remorse and regret, the ending is one of forgiveness and reconciliation.
