On November 8, Ensemble Intercontemporain will honour Rebecca Saunders with a portrait concert and the French premiere of her Triptych, Skin, Scar and Skull, at Paris Philharmonie. The ensemble – led by it’s musical director, Pierre Bleuse – will be joined by soprano Juliet Fraser.
The Triptych – Skin (2016), Scar (2019), and Skull (2023) – was nourished by Saunders' deep fascination about “exploring the physical and carnal quality of sound”, as well as “the physical and carnal impact that music can have on the listener”.
