Following a highly successful spring tour, Confessions, a unique theatrical collaboration between Kevin Volans, librettist Jane Taylor, artist William Kentridge and The Handspring Puppet Company embarks on another European tour in the autumn. This unconventional opera, based on Italo Svevo's novel mixes film projected as it is being made with song; live music with the actor’s performance; and puppet manipulators with the tones of a string quartet. The tour will take in performances at the Freie Volksbühne as part of the Berliner Festspiele (26-28 September); the Kampnagel Festival, Hamburg (2-5 October); Roma Europa Festival (24-26 October); the Teatro Liceo in Salamanca, Spain (14-16 November); the Centre Pompidou in Paris as part of the Festival d'Automne (20-24 November); Théâtre Caen, France (26-27 November); and Angouleme in France (29-30 November).
