Morning, Noon and Night is dedicated to the harpist Osian Ellis who, with Peter Pears, had given the premiere of Three Songs for Voice and Harp in 1974. lasting around eleven minutes, Morning, Noon and Night was first performed at the Aldeburgh Festival on 17 June 1977.
