Zwei Saiten eine Stimme (2004)
- Edition Wilhelm Hansen Copenhagen (World)
Programme Note
”Two Strings, One Voice” quotes as title a line from Rilke’s Love Song (Liebeslied), in which the poet praises the wonder of love by comparing the two lovers with two strings on a violin: Together they (may) produce one tone…!
The short song connects to Rilke’s metaphor by a music where the two performing artists draw on the same line; A singer and a violinist: one melody.
The piece is based on my "Fragment V" (1961) for violin and piano (piano ad lib.).
