Programme Note
Galaxy started as a project where two principles were predetermined before starting on the composition:
1) The energy of the piece should be generated from a spiral-principle as known from e.g. the galaxy, DNA, sky, waterspout and the drain in the kitchen sink - in other words; a constant accumulation of energy from the beginning to the end - and
2) an attempt on the integration of tonal and atonal music through experiments with a new "harmonics" which would make it possible to connect the tonal and atonal, triads and clusters, diatonic scales and twelve-tone scales.
