Bent Sørensen wins this year's Carl Award in the category "Composer of the year - Small ensemble" for his work Blade Springer, a celebratory work for Regensen's 400 years. With his clear melodies, Sørensen digs into a forgotten youth, in a way only he can.

And singer, musician and composer Sebastian received the Honorary Award for his incredible career and key role in Danish music for over 55 years.

Carl Prisen is awarded by the Danish Music Publishers’ Association. The prize was founded in 2013 and named after composer Carl Nielsen. Prizes are awarded to composers and songwriters in 15 different categories spanning different music genres.

Edition Wilhelm Hansen composers received five nominations in the Composer of the Year – Small ensemble and Big ensemble categories.
