Programme Note

Roxanna Panufnik’s Three Paths to Peace is an 11-minute orchestral prelude that intertwines Christian, Jewish and Islamic music, moving towards a homogenous, harmonious and joyful conclusion through the piece. Commissioned by the World Orchestra for Peace, it was first performed by them in Jerusalem, conducted by Valery Gergiev, on 19 October 2008.
