Programme Note

In Die Macht der Gewohnheit, composed in 2014 for the violinist of the ensemble musikFabrik Juditha Haeberlin, the poem of the same name by Hans-Magnus Enzensberger is interwoven with instrumental playing. The language moves in a spectrum between non-semantic sound material, which merges with the instrumental sound, and maximum comprehensibility of the text in the form of direct and cheeky address to the audience. The thoroughly provocative content of the poem can be interpreted in various ways – are we talking about today's society? About university structures? About the new in new music?
