This opera is the first of the trilogy “Tales of Hope and Desire” (Racconti di speranza e desiderio). It is followed by “La dama ed il pulitore di Damasco” (The Lady and the Sweep from Damascus) and “An Old Way to Pay New Debts” (Un vecchio modo di pagare i nuovi debiti).
